In the historic center of Florina, our team undertook the revision of a building permit and the architectural redesign of the exterior façades and landscape for a structure originally intended as a hotel, now being repurposed into a residential complex with a ground-floor café-restaurant.
The new architectural approach is structured around two main axes: internal layout adaptation and the aesthetic upgrade of the exterior, all developed with deep respect for the historical and cultural identity of the city.
Key features of the proposal include:
Replacement of solid balcony parapets with wrought iron railings in a neoclassical style, harmonized with the preserved architectural character of Florina’s historic buildings.
Separation of entrances between the residential units and the restaurant to maximize privacy and functional independence.
Installation of a discrete perimeter fence, combining concrete and iron elements for cohesive integration into the existing context.
The building’s proximity to the Sakoulevas River, an area surrounded by emblematic neoclassical architecture with eclectic influences and ornate marble balcony bases, strongly influenced the design decisions. The reimagined façade respects and reflects this local architectural heritage, balancing timeless form with contemporary function.
At Vrantsi, we approach every project with a holistic architectural vision, merging modern needs with regional character. We specialize in building permit revisions, exterior architectural studies, and customized landscape design in historically sensitive urban environments.
