This interior project in Kolonaki explores a contemporary interpretation of Athenian elegance, balancing classical architectural references with a warm and sophisticated material palette.
Decorative wall mouldings, herringbone timber flooring and brass details establish the architectural character of the residence, while dark woods, deep brown and burgundy marble, textured fabrics and glass elements introduce depth and richness. Vintage-inspired furniture is carefully combined with bespoke contemporary pieces, creating an interior that feels layered, refined and timeless rather than nostalgic.
A key element of the design is the relationship between materiality, light and atmosphere. Natural daylight filters through the curtains and moves across the textured walls, timber surfaces and fabrics, creating soft contrasts and enhancing the tactile quality of the space. In the evening, warm ambient lighting reinforces the intimate and elegant character of the interior.
Each room follows the same overall design language while developing its own identity. The bedroom is calmer and more balanced, with soft textures and a strong sense of symmetry, while the bathroom becomes more expressive through richly veined marble, ceramic surfaces, glass blocks and bronze fittings.
The result is a residence defined by understated luxury, craftsmanship and timeless sophistication — a contemporary interior that reflects the distinctive urban character of Kolonaki while maintaining a strong sense of warmth and individuality.
