VILLA | PAROS

Perched on a dramatic rocky hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea, the villa occupies an exceptional site shaped by steep terrain and the remains of a former stone quarry. Carved rock faces, abrupt level changes, and monumental geological formations define the landscape, inspiring an architecture that emerges organically from the land. Fragmented, low horizontal volumes follow the natural contours and existing quarry terraces, creating a sequence of platforms, courtyards, pathways, and protected outdoor spaces.

Rather than concealing the site’s history, the design embraces the quarry as a defining element of the project. Existing rock formations and level changes are preserved and integrated into the spatial experience, establishing a continuous dialogue between geology, landscape, and architecture. A restrained material palette of textured stone, mineral plaster, natural timber, and earth-toned finishes reflects the colors and textures of the surrounding Cycladic terrain.

Deep pergolas, shaded lounges, open-air dining areas, and expansive terraces frame panoramic views of the Aegean while providing protection from the Mediterranean sun and coastal winds. The infinity pool extends toward the horizon, reinforcing the connection between architecture and sea. Conceived as a contemporary Cycladic retreat, the villa transforms the challenging topography of the former quarry into an architecture shaped by light, stone, sea, and the geological memory of the place.
